AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a college readiness program designed to help students develop the skills they need to be successful in college. The program places special emphasis on growing writing, critical thinking, teamwork, organization and reading skills.

 

In addition to academic preparation, we also work to give the our students the tools and knowledge to reach college through financial aid instruction, collaboration training, and communication skill development. Our AVID students are invited on College Trips to enhance their scope of colleges.

 

Thomas Jefferson High School is working on becoming AVID Certified.
