Proposition 28, also known as the Arts and Music in Schools (AMS) Funding Program, provides dedicated annual funding to California public schools to expand arts education. These funds are intended to increase access to arts and music programs, especially for students in historically underserved communities. Proposition 28 dollars must be used specifically to support arts instruction, materials, and staffing.

 

At Thomas Jefferson High School, Prop 28 funds are making a meaningful impact by enriching student access to the arts. Funding is used to:

• Purchase performance uniforms for student music and arts events

• Provide supplies and materials for visual arts, music, and performing arts classes

• Upgrade equipment in the Music Room, supporting band, instrumental music, and performance programs

• Enhance student creative opportunities, events, and showcases across the school year
